Education and Fellowship:

Dr Redzwan was educated and awarded the MD from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2005. He has been practicing medicine in Sabah since 2006 and subsequently completed his MRCP(UK)(London) in 2010 while working in the Department of Medicine, Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu. He has been a practicing Physician in Internal Medicine since then and was accepted into the Fellowship of Respiratory Medicine(MOH) training from 2012-2015.

He trained in Respiratory Medicine in Queen Elizabeth Hospital and also completed a 1 year overseas fellowship training in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth, Australia focusing mainly on pleural medicine(complicated pleural infection,thoracic ultrasound, advances in treatment of malignant pleural effusion and mesothelioma), interventional pulmonology, pulmonary physiology and sleep disorder. He has been serving recently as a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine in Respiratory Department, Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu. He is certified by the National Specialist Registry as a Consultant in Internal Medicine and Respiratory Medicine.

His main services offered in Respiratory Medicine includes diagnosis and management of pneumonia, TB, pleural disease and infection, lung cancer, asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, occupational lung disease, noninvasive ventilation, interpretation of lung function tests, sleep disorders diagnostics and treatment, smoking cessation and endoscopic services such as bronchoscopy and biopsy, pleuroscopy/medical thoracoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound(EBUS).

1. CQMF 149E 220(Novartis)(ended June 2013) A randomized, double blind, double dummy, 4 week treatment, parallel group study, to evaluate the efficacy and safety of two doses of Mometasone Furoate delivered via Concept 1 inhaler or Twisthaler, in adult and adolescent with persistent asthma.

2. MIMS-TB Study-Vi-DAPT study 2012(ongoing): Mycobacterial Infections in East Malaysia: Clinical and Microbiological Features and The Effect of Adjunctive Therapies in Pulmonary Tuberculosis.

3. Australasian Malignant Pleural Effusion (AMPLE) -2 Trial: a multicentre randomized trial to optimize indwelling pleural catheter drainage for relief of breathlessness in malignant pleural effusions (ongoing).
